DIY Scented Pinecones

I love, love, LOVE scented pinecones! But what I don’t love are the negative effects of synthetic fragrances. Instant headache! Did you know that synthetic fragrances are known hormone disruptors? I won’t bring them into my home for my own health, the health of my family, nor my friends who come to visit.

So, instead of buying them, did you know that you can make your own with any essential oil that you choose! Follow these simple instructions and you’ll be ready to make your house or any area smell wonderful!

DIY SCENTED PINECONES

MATERIALS

— 2 lbs. Pinecones
— Young Living essential oil of choice: Cinnamon Bark, Clove, Cedarwood, Nutmeg, Orange, Pine, Frankincense, Spruce, Myrrh, Juniper, and/or Peppermint, or a few blends that come to mind are Christmas Spirit (a FAVORITE), Abundance, and Light the Fire.

— Large plastic bag

— Optional: cinnamon sticks, dried orange peels, and/or eucalyptus leaves

DIRECTIONS

Place half of the pine cones in the plastic bag and sprinkle a total of 15 drops of your chosen essential oils, add the remainder of pine cones to the bag and sprinkle with another 15 drops total of your chosen essential oil. Add the optional cinnamon sticks, dried orange peels and eucalyptus leaves.

Close bag tightly with twist tie or string and shake. Let sit for 1-4 weeks, shaking the bag 1-3 times a week.

Young Living Halloween Roundup

Well, it’s right around the corner! Next week actually. I began looking into some healthier alternatives to the traditional treats and thought to share them with you.

Here we have a fun drink and snack with Witch’s Brew and Fruit Spiders.

Sink your teeth into this nutritious treat called Ogre’s Overbite.

Also take time to enjoy these festive treats of Thieves-Infused Pumpkin Seeds and Halloween Popcorn!

Annnnnnd then there’s the trips to the bathroom after all of the fruit and healthy eating, lol. So how about some Halloween Poo Brew and a Trick or Treat diffuser blend to keep the house (ahem, and bathroom) smelling ummmmmm, not so scary, HA!!!

Finish the night with this Monster Repellent. Talk about cute! The kids will love them! Use the Monster Repellent for little ones who think there’s a monster in the closet, or under the bed. Or for the overactive imaginations that will soon follow Trick or Treat.

Happy Halloween from Scentsable Living!
