DIY Scented Pinecones

I love, love, LOVE scented pinecones! But what I don’t love are the negative effects of synthetic fragrances. Instant headache! Did you know that synthetic fragrances are known hormone disruptors? I won’t bring them into my home for my own health, the health of my family, nor my friends who come to visit.

So, instead of buying them, did you know that you can make your own with any essential oil that you choose! Follow these simple instructions and you’ll be ready to make your house or any area smell wonderful!

DIY SCENTED PINECONES

MATERIALS

— 2 lbs. Pinecones
— Young Living essential oil of choice: Cinnamon Bark, Clove, Cedarwood, Nutmeg, Orange, Pine, Frankincense, Spruce, Myrrh, Juniper, and/or Peppermint, or a few blends that come to mind are Christmas Spirit (a FAVORITE), Abundance, and Light the Fire.

— Large plastic bag

— Optional: cinnamon sticks, dried orange peels, and/or eucalyptus leaves

DIRECTIONS

Place half of the pine cones in the plastic bag and sprinkle a total of 15 drops of your chosen essential oils, add the remainder of pine cones to the bag and sprinkle with another 15 drops total of your chosen essential oil. Add the optional cinnamon sticks, dried orange peels and eucalyptus leaves.

Close bag tightly with twist tie or string and shake. Let sit for 1-4 weeks, shaking the bag 1-3 times a week.
